A Thigh Lift, also known as Thighplasty, removes the excess skin along the inner thigh area. Removal may extend from the inner knee to the groin. This procedure would normally be performed bilaterally and result in a more toned appearance in the upper legs. This procedure can be particularly useful when excess skin is formed during weight gain. When this excess weight is lost, particularly through rapid dieting, folds of skin are often left behind. A thigh lift can be done in combination with other surgery such as a buttock lift which may also be necessary.
Liposuction is often combined with thigh and buttock surgery or it can also be used on its own where excessive skin has not been formed.
